I took a picture of the sunrise this morning , it's in my phone and will probably stay there  , I admit , it was from the marina and not from the boat out at sea , but sunrise it was......... I should have stayed in bed though :D
Actually , apart from the swell in the morning (the dreaded noise of surf crashing into Warkworth beach greeted me as I stepped from the car again) it turned out not a bad day , fishing wise it was another step on the learning curve ladder with a venture further afield in the boat (I pick my days to do things don't I ) and a lesson (an expensive one) in how not to fish in a big swell in deep water. It was pretty aweful in the morning , but got progressively better all day , which is a bit of a bummer seeing as I went out so early because I thought it might get worse during the day :red:
I caught my usual haul of cod , again no monsters but plenty of them , caught a lot of mackerel today , they were taking anything and everything , had a decent pollock and a good coalie about 2.5lb :)
I used some foul and abusive language in a very raised voice (I'm allowed , I'm alone and at least 6 miles from the nearest ears :D) on more than one occasion when the wrecks were stealing my tackle , and on more than one occasion thought about chucking the rod in the boat and going home , but I was still out there at 3pm making excuses to have one more drift :D
I love fishing :D

tackle losses:mad: some days seem to be so much worse than others:exclam: its not so bad if theres still a few fish coming aboard:)but when its drop after drop and no fish:mad: its absolutely infuriating, and moods are reflected by stamping of feet, putting the rod down and sitting fuming for a minute, only to pick the damn thing up and lose more gear:D:D

haha never a truer word spoken:D:D

Aye Ray i know what you mean, when i'm out alone i usually have 20 or so last drifts..:D, well done for carrying on and upping the catch rate..:);)

Well done Ray good stuff, yeah the tackle losses can be a t**t at times!! all part of it I suppose.

I'm not used to it though David , I was brought up on coarse fishing where the only consumable is bait , and then fly fishing where you sometimes lose a fly , about 50p :D , I went into a tackle shop the other day, spent about £50 on terminal tackle and all I have left out of it after one trip is a half a spool of amnesia , I hope the wife nevr finds out :o . I was standing looking at what was left of my pirks and shads etc. at one point and thinking I might as well not bother tying them on the line , just chuck them over the side the way they were and save a lot of time :D
I still love fishing though ;)
