favourite local winter shot

Well with the winter season fast approaching and clubs gearing up for the start of it, I thought in might be a good idea for some of us share one of their favoured local shots.

I'll start.

When there's a good north or north easterly blowing my favourite shot has got to be cullercoats harbour. I fish the south side of the harbour often starting off on the pier if its not to big with a 30 or 40 yard lob.

As the tide drops I head on to the the rocks chucking up the middle of the channel and just follow the tide down then you can fish a few hours up if you like but I think the ebb is best.

Its heavy ground but often throws up some good fish.

Cheers.

I like West Bay at St Mary's or the North Skeer at the top of Whitley beach. Both need a good sea running and are low water marks.

local'y= hartley island, crescent & brocken leg good northerly running
away= hauxley - silvers, monkey's & fergies north sea.

It has got to be the White House Sands at Amble for me, the most reliable mark/marks I ever fish. I live in Newcastle and still always drive up North to fish. After November it is further North again!

Graham.

I'll go along with the White House Sands too Graham, as well as the Block House at Hadston during a good easterly blow.
