fish quay last night

fished the quay last night from about 4-9 as usual (starting to get bored of filling the place up with lead) and managed a blank, i had one bite and lost the fish due to fannying on reeling in slow and snagged the lot up. however it wasn't a bad night as i got talking to a bloke who give me a hand drawn map of the marks on Whitley beach :o, also he showed me how to set up a rotten bottom, so i think i am going to have to use them from now on. all in all not the best fishing but worth it for the valuable information on marks i gained, also if the bloke who give me the map is on Nesa thanks.
bait used lug and frozen peeler

Don't know what's down there but I won't be fishing it again until it's dredged. Last time I had rotten bottoms, and twice with fish on I got snagged half way in, so what's snagging. Complete waste of time and tackle.

one weird thing about the quay you can loose a lot of gear one time and another you won't even get snagged. It may have something to do with the strenght of tide? Unfortunately, most of the snags are caused by anglers lost lines, old ropes, bits of nets, etc Many years ago a lad used to scull up and down with a grapnel and get all the old sinkers and flog them.

A lot of rubbish gets dumped off the boats and with all of the lost lines its a tackle graveyard...best place used to be the hole in the wall behind the rubber company but i believe its blocked off now
