Thats the way forward for fishing in the North East. Scratching - at least it means you don't spend hours catching nowt. Lets face it theres not many decent fish about.

Yes you are dead right there mate. Even the Whiting have disappeared.
Its better fishing on the rivers these days.

Still some Bass about but you can't keep one until July now so don't bother with them now.

You’ll be lucky to get a bite mate 

As mentioned, I’d go for small hooks and hope for the best. If you can, get down at low water and fish the rock ends for chance of a better fish
