Fox Hunting Ban

...ordinary country folk

whats one of them then?? Is that the ordinary country folk than can afford to own a thorobred hunter, all the tack, silly clothes, horse box and 4x4 to tow it with??

shagging sheep don\'t pay what it used to out here you know

Ordinary country folk are skint, maybe a have a few beers in the pub each week and if they owned a horse would possibly eat it.

I live in the middle of ordinairy (but not necessarily \'normal\') country folk and none of em are ever invited to take part in the local hunts, they have had there own dogs attacked by the the hounds and there land ripped to shit in the due process of \'efficient fox control\' however.

As long as they don\'t ban badger baiting as well I don\'t care

hunting with hounds needs to go

shooting/stalking ok with that

fishing for the table ok with that

poaching other peoples salmon... damn thats illegal all ready

firing me pea shooter out the car winddow at traffic wardens OK with that

Possible?....yes.......likely?....no.

But I think Micky\'s right about the creeping restrictions.

Don\'t get other animals to do you\'re dirty work!

Err apart from live sandeels (other)
Raptors
Retreivers
Terriers

That\'s blown that smart arse comment out of the windy. sounded good at the time.

I have my views on the whole hunting with dogs thing but I will refrain from airing them on this occasion as the topic is about whether it would lead to a ban on fishing.

My opinion on that is no..It could not lead to a ban on fishing as they would never be able to police it properly. How many places do people know where they can fish with out being disturbed by anyone. Would the police climb down to a skeer to arrest someone who has probably had his/her hands in a bag full of worms, crabs, and or squid, has fishing guts and blood down the front of his/her flotation smock and all over their boots......I didn\'t think so..

If they did try to ban it would we take any notice of it anyway....I dunno...but i bet those who have boats would love it in the summer with the queues of people lining up at the local marina waiting to go out to sea to catch a few fishies....and anyway if they did ban it I would have to personally go down to 10 Downing Street and explain to Tony Blair (or is it Gordon Brown)that banning fishing is a very bad thing to do ( I can be very persuasive) and also put to them the fact that I would probably end up in court on a charge of murder cos I would have done Ian in cos of all of his constant whinging about not being able to go fishing....and I get the feeling that I would not be the only fishing widow to do so....

i\'ve never been actually \"on\" a hunt but have been \"to\" hunt a couple of times, from what i saw there were a dozen or so obviously bigwigs for want of a better word and about double again more ordinary (i hate catagorising people but must to make my point) people in the hunt all were very cordial in what was obviously a social event as well as a hunt.

anyways its getting late so i\'m off to bed now.
my final take on the hunting with dogs is i\'m pro hunting and never going to change my mind, a lot of you are obviously anti hunting, thats fine it would be a boring old world if we all thought the same !

You\'re right Claire. fishing is a whole different ball of kettles. Nowt to do with Hunting Foxes with hounds.

Spell my name correctly please Iain.....Or is it Ean....

My views on hunting with hounds and hunting in general are mixed as I can see both sides of the arguement, and I did not want to air them at this juncture as the topic is about the possibility of a fishing ban...so ner ner ne ner ner ;)

Bribones you EITHER hunt or dont ,
i do but for the table ,what i cant eat goes back,i dont catch a fish and rip it to shreds then keep the tail as a trophy,im not fussed about the fox but the way in which its killed i say shoot em and be done with it,not terrorise them for 10 miles then rip them to shreds, more to the point if fox hunting was fair let the dogs go one on one with the fox and see how the dog likes it,as for the antis trying to ban fishing they can try but theyd be peeing against the wind, the amount of revenue gained from the sport for one thing is in its favour although i suppose winalot could argue that point, most fish are catch and return unless they go tits up which is an accident not deliberate like fox hunting,i suppose theres no rights and wrongs its a personal preference

Cheers CLAARe. Nice to see the coppers are finally redressing the imbalance by smashing a few toffs nappers in tonight, keep it up for a week lads. You Tory wankers whingeing out there can fuck right off. It hurts doesn\'t it!

This is the best thread that has been on here since the undersized fish thread. LOVE IT. Unfortunately I have just got in from work and have also had a couple of drinks.
Gonna read this all again tomorrow and follow Tony\"s advice \"Think before posting\". You never know who is reading lol.

Jim.

best post for months peeps,i\'am pro hunt by the way but i respect everyones opinion, bit cream crackered to join in (nightshift),probably be still running on Thursday no doubt lol,i\'ll post then......

Here is one for you all to ponder.

If it was announced that they were going to bring in a bill to ban fishing how far would you go to try and stop this from happening and if it was brought in would you then abide by it or ignore it?

Would you go to the lengths that the pro hunters did in London yesterday?

how many other countries hunt foxes with hounds ?
i think we need to look at the bigger picture here re fishing its not just a good old british past time its international and the revenue as such is huge a ban would result in a cascade of lost taxes and sales both at home and overseas, licence it or police it yes ,but ban it ,itl never happen,i also asume there are more anglers than fox hunters, and apart from the antis the general public wouldnt have the same view about fishing as they do fox hunting,id guess 99% eat fish or fish related produce, when was the last time anyone had fox ? ;)

im see one of the anti\'s punched an mp at the commons yesterday

had to pick on a woman

they want marching over a cliff
