Frasers comp

Alan i chuck all my fish back when out boat fishing unless dead, if you live around Tynemouth area and i have a good day your more than welcome to them, i have your number just never rang you.

Thats what they all say, o I never rang, I live at Cullercoats, love mackerel, ling, cod, salmon, sea trout, even pollock now, scotchies, whiting, more mackerel, plaice, more mackerel. Will collect. More mackerel, and more mackerel, so does the dog, the wife, my son and his family, next door neighbour, me mam, can't think of anybody else at the moment. More mackerel.

Still 11 weeks left of mackerel fishing if the weather stays fine...so 2 weeks left :)

I will let you know in advance when i am out but anymoney i catch nowt that day :)

cheers NE, Keith what gave you that idea, I also like spurdog, and mackerel, dogfish, mackerel, tiger prawns, black bream, mackerel, red bream, mackerel, mullett, coalfish, and last but not least, mackerel.

Seen some cracking mackerel this year, loads last week around the 1 3/4 and 2lb mark.

Hooked into 2 both just under 2lb, it felt like a full house, made a nice ling bait they did :)

NE what a waste, use the little uns for ling, give me the big uns. Agree with you though NE, have heard of some really big mackerel being caught and the average size is well up on previous years.
Steve, have a feeling I might be having to make a trip to Curry's to get a bigger one.

you may have mentioned mackeral, but if you havent, I,m sure the lads on this site might let you have some if they are passing your place.

WOW, that would be nice of you lot, got nineteen off Alan Skinner tonight, might last till the weekend, mind the dog demolished a couple as well. Breakfast, fresh mackerel in bran flakes, shallow fried in hot oil, with bread and butter.

Mackerel Smoothies MMmmmmmmmmm :o

Alan the amount of omega 3 oil you consume I'm surprised you haven't got a head like Frank Sidebottoms :p

maybe that is why young mr charlton sports the beard as to hid his youthfull aka frank sidebottom looks as not to let the secret out.

lol

just realised the bran thing = lush just like herrings in bran. Have also noticed this year that the mackeral have loads and i mean loads of oil in them.

I've got to agree Jason, I have eaten most of the Mackerel I took home last Thursday night and they seemed to be a lot more oily than usual, very tasty.

Jim.

best tasting fish in the sea...if only they grew a bit bigger, I reckon Cod would never get a look in again

Had Cod and Mackerel side by side for tea the other week and as much as you can't beat fresh Cod the flavour from Mackerel is much better

I luv macky, 2 best ways to eat it IMHO

Pickel them like Roll Mops (very easy to do)

or

Stuff them with tomatoe, chilly and garlic mixture and bake them for 20 mins gas mark 4. Eaten hot or cold there lush.
