Frozen bait

After wasting half an hour going to a tackle shop in Whitley Bay for some worm only to find it does not bother opening on a Sunday ( isnt this when most people are off work )I was wondering -- Is there any baits good for freezing so that we are not dependant on shops for a bit of short notice fishing

ie Supermarket ( mussels etc )

I saw some herring with parsley reduced as nearly out of date , would this be a decent bait ??

Need to stock freezer with some different frozen bait

Thanks

Dave

Lewis tackle is closed down mate, a decent supermarket bait is macky.
And raw mussel, but you can collect mussel.
As scotty says, blacks, crab, razor from the tackle shop freezer, will
see you ok for a last minute session.

herring ...ok for when the whiting are abundant and u dun wanna ur premium baits. in the freezer some. runnydown, mackerel , mussel and squid shud see you thru a last minute session or for when u dont have time to get to a tackle shop

Thanks guys

Was only at Lewis a couple of weeks ago .Never saw any sale items did it go bust ?? If so sad for owners /staff.
Suprised it shut as a prime spot

Thanks for info may visit China town next week

Sounds weird but if yr fishing for whiting, coalies etc. try pigs liver! Cheap + easy to buy, full of blood... Also if you cant get fishing just fry and eat it! Whatever happens youve got your tea... Lol
