And I've spent the best part of 40 years teaching the most disadvantaged in our society how to play sport, add up and take away and how to find their way around our fair and pleasant land. I've even managed to teach a few where to fish. Forgetting the gentle humour I tried to inject into the thread, without looking to cause any offence, the idea of dismissing it with "tuff tits" only devalues the issue further.

was wondering if any one could help me with some spots to dig yellow tails around the northumberland/tyne an wear area not necissarily now but just for future
any help would be appreciated cheers
 
A good worm bed is like a good peeler spot. its not talked about and if you stumble onto it its a mini war zone.

I dont dig so dont care but i doubt any good info will be given out, few worm beds around our area for both rag and lug but as i say i doubt you will get much info.

Exactly. :) ;)

We all keep our areas to ourselves for the fact that we ourselves will be able to get bait and the same again in the future.

I take good care of my crab tyres, and hate to go and do them and find them thrown aboot by reckless youths and daft sods who think getting bait is a doddle and just throw a tyre to one side and there you go... not quite that easy :p

So thats why everyone keeps themselves to them selves when it comes to there crab traps and digging areas, though the likes of beaches and so on for digging, I think we can all learn to share. :)
 
Andy no worrys yet m8 they wont need cleaning out for another 4 months yet then the crab wars begin :D

I'm going to breed my ragworm from now on ;)

sod digging too much hard work!!

haha, but in all seriousness... its not over difficult to do. Nereis virens (the king rag) is easy to grow and raise to maturity, just once they've spawned... they die but then you have the problem of stopping all the larve eating each other befor they even reach juveniles... then they are cannibalistic anyways! so SPACE is the key ;)

Just goes to show the lengths Ragworm farmers go to so we get prime fishing bait, but am still a firm believer theres nowt better than worms freshly dug on a beach out of th sand/mud :) ;)
