Good Sesh at Blyth

Well finally started my winter shore fishing with my 1st trip out this year having put the kayak aside till calmer weather and conditions looked good for a sesh at Blyth beach lastnight with airborne.
As I was walking down lads were coming off complaining about the weed and not holding bottom but I was eager to see for myself and enjoy the evening ahead, well setup and put a big peeler bait on and within minutes got a cracking knock and was into a lovely bass

On the scales it came in just over 3lb but it was deep hooked even tho I used a 5/0 so had to keep it, I'd rather have put it back.
The weed was becoming a problem as the night went on but the fish kept coming with a further 5 codling getting caught upto 2lb so not a bad night and a nice welcome back to shore fishing lets hope it continues.

Well done. We travelled further north to Colournose Point but on the way back we were wishing we had tried Blyth again. We struggled with the weed on the beaches.

Mick.
