I was introduced to this forum by 5150 who I bumped into last night so I thought I would sign up. Just got back into sea fishing in the last few weeks after a break of over 20 years. Things have certainly changed a lot since I used to fish, especially on the tackle front.

Feel as if I am a totaly beginner again so forgive me if I ask you folks for loads of advice!

Just browsing on here it seems like a great site, none of the nastiness I have seen elsewhere.

Its good to find a nice place to hang out when I aint fishing:)

Cheers

Welcome to the asylum Dean - and back to the sport (if you can find any fish you know you're doing alright :D)

Cheers, Gary :)

Thanks for the welcome folks, its really good to have a forum for the North East. Dont know why I ever stopped fishing back in '87, I cant seem to get enough of it now!

Cheers

I only started fishing again myself 18 months ago for the first time since '83 - absence was caused by moving away. Upon returning to the NE the first priority (after finding a house!) was to re-stock the fishing gear - flash new carbon poles to replace the old fibreglass/dural rods & silky smooth new reels, and a proper box & rucksack to replace the long-lost wicker creel. I still like to use the old scarborough gear though - might take it down to Blyth pier to make short work of those drift-nets:D:D:D
