Hoping to get out this weekend, weather permitting, so I\'ll post something early next week. I only go up to about 4 miles offshore though as my boat is on the small side. On the whole, it\'s been pretty good this year.

a mate of mine was out on esk star last saturday, out of hartlepool, he said it was pretty quiet with bait so he tried a leadhead with a big jelly on, the ling loved them. they took ling to 10 1/2 lb & cod to about 7 lb on wrecks and hard ground no more than 5 miles out

Not much happening numers wise and what fish are around have been hard to find. Best ling reported 21lb aboard Gordon Cubbins, others around 18lb 7 15lb general size 8-10lb. Not many cod, loads mackerel and whiting. But things can change over night

Got out Saturday as I\'d hoped.

Fished about 3 miles off the caravan site at Crimdon.

As many Mackerel & Whiting as you could wish for. One Ling 10lb - and delicious.

We were out on Flamer II on Saturday. 3 ling up to 13lb came over the side, 1 cod of about 4 pound and loads of whiting and macky. Not the best day ever! Tried pirks, leadheads, daylights, hokkais and bait!

john has just told me that he and flamer had a totally contrasting day on sunday ling to 15lb and cod to 15lb some double hookups with ling of 15lb and 13lb on the same drop. 20 stone of fish on the boat on sunday. Hope that the same happens tomorrow off the tyne.

Latest i have on Hartlepool, some good ling coming aboard best 24lb, Geronimo had 7 between 18lb & 24lb. Gordon Cubbins 19lb, 21lb & 22lb ling. No doubt most baots will have done roughly the same

Was out Sunday as well, but not fishing. Sea was flat smooth, took SWMBO for a trip up to Seaham and back - lots of seabirds and dolphins off the Heugh.

Hoping to get out again this Saturday, weather permitting - looks like there\'s more ling to be had.

thanks for all help trip booked for next week might have time to try out pier for a 4/5 hrs this week is it worth it ?? (HARTLEPOOL PIER THAT IS) have the boats been able to get out this weekend and any decent fish about . forcast not too good i see ; thanks again;

Forecast was so crap I didn\'t even travel up. Doubt whether anyone got out. Hoping for better this coming weekend. Is is just me or have we had a truly poor June/July/August weatherwise?
