I've just been reading this article. The photo says it's Alan Charlton. It does look vaguely familiar, but I always thought Alan had more hair....
I know I am a bit of a slippery customer, but can't remeber the last time I didn't have whiskers, think that is why all early photos of me, all you can see is the pram, are locked away in a safe. Actually the photo looks like one I took at a match in the Tyne, that could be why my name is on it, could be wrong.
The reason why the eel population is on the decrease is becaue of a disease which started in Japan has spread world wide. I brought this matter up years ago at a meeting about the Tees estuary with INCA, SFC, NE, etc, it is not because of anglers.
