How long will he last

I have been hoping that Obama would not win the presidency, but it looks as if he will. I wonder now how long he will last with all those red necks out there?

whys that alan, genuinely interested to know

Personally, I think McCain would be a disaster, an even bigger puppet of the oil industry and security services than the current retard in the white house

certain amount of that will probably still apply to obama, but I believe the man on the street will get a better deal.

The real powers that be in the good ol' US of A have sod all to do with white house or any feigned democaratic process, if obama doesn't play ball with them he'll be history. won't be a straight assasination though

it'll be a 'terrorist' act...... or thats what they'll tell the world any road

CNN have Obama down to win even without the 'tossup' states!

CNN Electoral Map Calculator - Election Center 2008 from CNN.com

Been a pretty exciting day around here with plenty of parties and beer drinking to be had tonight and not much work going on through the day!!! Most people seem to want Obama to win, not just the Californians either, we've got people from the south here too!

Just looking forward to the drinking myself though!!!

personally I think he is a wonderful guy, with a wife and family and he would be a great president. But I think he should put his family first, with all those red necks who don't like the blacks, one even called him a muslim on tele, i think they will be out to get him.

you're probably right, and just goes to show what big beardy softie you are!

I've always thought the electoral map of america is a pretty good indicator of the american psyche.

all the states around the coast are outward looking and fairly sensible, the states in the middle, well, aren't I guess!

personally I wish him all the best, and hope he's got the balls to shake things up.... although, when you see how much money 'corporate america' has given him so far, makes you wonder wether he's not sold out already!

So he's in...let's see what happens now.........

Tinkering around the edges of what I believe is a fundamentally flawed system. The odd percentage point shifted here and there in terms of tax and public spending. Much rhetoric and fine words but in the end the best he can do is chuck a few tidbits to the people who need help the most (The People). He's a politician - a smart talking, professional, non ugly black man who talks a very good game. Don't get me wrong - he makes George W look like the fool that he is and McCain(?) who's main claims to fame are being named after an oven chip and getting caught during the Vietnam War. How does that make you a hero - getting shot down (your obviously rubbish at not getting shot down) and getting locked up (You've got no choice - your captured) and let out when they say so!

Anyone can become president of the USA ($350,000,000 campaign expenses)

The one good thing that's come out of this is the inspiration and belief amongst the American black community that the doors are now open - those open doors IMHO merely allow black people to now become fully fledged members of a capitalist pretendy democracy and to become integrated into a process of expoitation, unfairness and general allround rich get richer poor eat doo doo still society
