I.D. Cards

Read the papers, mind you cant belive anything you read in the papers.

PS from a previous post
I have mentioned previously that Human rights have gone to far and not used for what they are meany for protecting the innocent from the gulity, which seems to upset mark, hope he has seen todays papers, British Intelligence agencies ahve had to withold evidnce which would ensure that Saddam Hussain was found gulty and hanged, why because it would be against his humna rights as the EU does not have a death penalty. What about the poor people in his country who where slaughtered in their millions.

Alan charlton , next time you speak to your South African daughter in law ask her about the \"Pass\" laws . I lived in South Africa and my Black assistant was so badly beaten by the police i hardly recognised him . Broken jaw the works , his \"Crime\" ? I sent him to the shops to get me some fags and he forgot his ID card and was lifted by the Cops . Cannot happen here ??? You sure ? Remember the miners strike when people were lifted for nothing , anybody that says you have nothing to fear if your \"innocent\"are dreaming .

There are many counties in the world with compulsory ID systems (I\'ve worked in most of them ) , and they ALL use them to suppress the people . Before you make up your mind on them consider this , there is NO going back once you have them .

Dave spoke to a lot of people in South Africa on the occassions i was out there. Heard all about the pass laws. Some of the people i met where very interesting and to me unsong heroes, they had spent a good few years in goal speaking up against aparteid, especially some of the white union workers who stood up for black workers. Some of these ordinary people should put pen to paper. My pre conception of South Africa was that all whites agreed with aparteid and all areas where effceted, until i started looking into it before i went and talking to my son. The Transki was a typical example of a vast area telling the then government to get lost. When i told some boers that i intended to drive through the Transki, they said i would not make it out the other end. Wonderful place and wonderful people. I suppose it is how you treat other people how they respond.

Dave one Q why didnt you go and get your own fags

I wish i had of went Alan , it cost me 100 rand to bail the poor sod and more for his treatment . Respect to you for driving through the Transkei , i would\'nt :o

Felt pretty safe, had the wife with me, but jesus the traffic cops, think the locals where a bit baffled at me giving them the nod to slow down.

agree on one point that nothing can stop terrorist acts and id cards would not help track the suspects down. But believe DNA data bank would. That is the last word i am having on the subject as far as i am concerned the ID/DNA subjcet is now finished.

how do you know that Mark, should try and give them a chance to find some evidence or dna, lets face it its only twelve hours from when it happened :(
This puts Human Rights into perspective :exclam:

I dont have a problem with the ID card idea but I dont agree that you have to pay for them.I think the people against ID cards would soon change there minds if there was a massive terrorist attack on the UK,it could happen and maybe it will one day,I would sooner have big brother watching me than some faceless Tw#t wiping out thousands of UK citizens, thats includes my family and yours btw, nuff said :exclam:
Feel terrible saying this,I\'ll stick by what I say though. If I.D cards stop one terrorist then thats a success, how much does a life cost, you cant fight terrorists with flowers in your hair and pratting about having peace marches with your finest sandals flapping in the air, whats the point in talking about Human Rights and wrongs when these people are prepared to do anything to kill and disrupt our civilised society, the government need to hit these people hard

I think you have answered your own question there Alan , these animals will do anything to disrupt and kill our society . By changing our free life style , we will be helping them achieve exactly what they want . Imho , all the talking is academical now anyway and all out action will now ensue . The question we should now be asking ourselves , what do these people want and why are they doing it ???

I am sure that the next 10-20 years will see a vast amount of trouble and in the end , when the killing is over , we will sit down with whoever is left and thrash out a diplomatic solution just as every terrorist war that has ever been before .

Pity things have got this far in the first place dont you think :( . And before anyone accuses me of being a pacifist , I have family in the gulf on duty and back them 100% .

Condolances to all the poor peoples families who got caught up in this today btw .

well said Dave,
Lets hope in the future when it is sorted out they dont end up as a member of parliament like other terrorists
I \'ve got family working in Baghdad Dave, its always a relieve when he comes home, the money is good but theres the risk as well :exclam:

Got to say that I agree with Alan Charlton.
this also will be my last post on the subject as it has been going round in circles for days and is SO boring.
Nothing could have been done to stop what happened today and everyone knows that.
Let\'s just agree to dissagree and let these people know that we stand together against them.
They are scum they have always been scum and they will continue to be scum.

My heart and thoughts go out to every person with someone involved with this tradgedy today.

Jim.
