Imfo for map card for plotter

My Lowrance sounder/plotter has an SDC 38Mb card for the east coast of britain fitted, but I can't zoom in to any detail of the coast line. What do I need to get a zoomed in map of the north east coastline, showing areas in greater detail. Do I buy another SDC card, if so, how much should I be paying, and where from, or can they be down loaded from the computer onto my existing card:question:. Never was very technical

Is it definately a chart cartridge and not just a user data cartrdge so what you are seeing is just the base map?

if you go into the system settings, and chart details, if I remember rightly with lowrance there's an option to set the amount of chart detail that is displayed

set that to the maximum and then have another look

Hi Mark, When you say cartridge, do you mean the phone type memory card that's changeable. The unit I have is probably 10 years old and is now discontinued. It has an mmc card and an sdc card which has east coast of Britain written on it. When I zoom out, and the usa coast appears, I can zoom right in to very detailed usa coastline. I will connect the unit up tomorrow and try getting into the system and try and re-set it. Thanks for your help.

sounds as if you have a usa map arthur ... more so if the name is "Written" on, it may be in error .... is it maybe "east coast" of N.America need a big tank of fuel to get you there .....
