Is the Phoenix rising from the ashes?

By you lads give Gary some stick!

As for the points deduction I think they should have been deducted points! Historically though the punishment has been light for this

there's time yet for the points deduction, premier league are within their rights to enforce this at any stage of the season so it could happen soon.

Tevez was a different situation all together??

Facts are mackems had a player that was crap (Lol as if:D) and loaned him out.

He then came back and the idiots in charge didn't register this, and he played a number of games.

He played in cup game against mk dons and yous lot got to the final, but, should have been kicked out of competition as others have in the past under the same circumstances.

He played some league game, regardless of the result, other teams have been docked points as well as fined.

Unless any Mackem can show me otherwise????

No beach, just quoting the rules, however, if I can recall correctly, SAFC did self report the breach and this is a mitigating factor in the case. Premier League are allowed to use discretion and modify the penalties where applicable in such cases so good luck matey:D

See o'sullivan's started to up the pace.

You sound like shearer in disguise he qouted that drivel o motd, the tevez case was qouted as what you say was an non eligible player, yes ive been quiet but I couldn't here much from your fantastic season, keep on our fantastic run and I can see us no far behind the mags:);)

? Your player wasn't registered to play, end of story. He shouldn't have played, clerical error or not. And the club should be dealt with the same way as every other club has that's done the same.

No idea why you keep comparing this to tevez? He was registered and eligible to play? There were rules broken regards transfer fee and his ownership? To which west ham got a hefty fine. In the millions.

Other English clubs have had points deducted or been thrown out of cup competition for doing exactly what the mackems have, the league have cocked up, and it had been kept quiet, but quite rightly others aren't happy.

Oh as for our "fantastic" season? We've been **** for most of it, yet still finished top 10. Funny how one of our poorest seasons in the premier league has only been bettered by yous lot twice, and that was 15 years ago. Lol

Newcastle are the superior club Gary without doubt...
I think Sunderland got let off very lightly with no points deduction

Still, assuming Sunderland survive id rather have been a mackem this season. Mags NEED a cup run next season, never mind top 10 just go the distance in a cup and give the fantastic fans of NUFC something to be proud of.

Again without doubt both sets of fans are the best in the BPL, imagine an FA cup final between the two...wow I'd never come out of hiding if I was on the losing end of that one! :D

You have got to give them great credit. 10 out of 12 points from Man City, Man U and Chelsea! If they win on Saturday, 5 wins in a row in the top flight for who knows how many years and could end up 12th in the table and Newcastle maybe just above them in 10th!!

Quite a turnaround!!

With thanks to the BBC website for the above info, as I know he haw about it!! :)
