Going to the MOG August staying at New England Bay. Got the usual cebar lures etc for Pollack. What other lures fish well up there. Mainly fishing during the day for Pollack.
Thanks.

My method of choice for the Luce Bay bass is a using a controller float and fishing a holographic sandeel behind it.

We have a static caravan on the Clashwhannon site in Drummore and spend most of the summer there. What dates are you going in August ? If we are there you are more than welcome to call in for advice if you want it.

I have caught quite a lot of bass on lures at NE Bay over the years. Dusk and dawn being the optimum times.

Good question. I'm over there 3 weeks on Friday. I'll be keeping an eye on this.

savage gear sandeels are deadly!
redgills and jellyworms work well too and are relatively cheap
slow steady retrieve for pollack and don't go to light on tackle or it will cost you fish

We head back over to our Clashwhannon van a week on Thurs and will be there for 4/5 weeks on this stint. More than welcome to call in for a bit advice/cuppa/can/bit chat. Van no 5 - if there is a red Scenic outside the van I will be in.

This is us from the main gate

Any particular colours mate ?

For Pollack obvious ones like black and black/red firetail, I like orange and purple as well. If those aren't working then I like more natural colours like black/silver or the pearly white redgills. Like others have said though don't fish too light. I usually spin with a 3-5oz bass rod 45/50lb braid and hooklength 30/40lb... Some may call that heavy but I don't.

Spot on mate. I'll take note of all that.

Eddystone weighted black/red firetails are ususally my favorite. Moonfleet have them in at the moment I noticed.

You can catch pollock/macky and even sandeels on just them plain 28-40g silver spinners. Think DustyBin on here sells them for pence if your on budget
