mackerel roker pier

had a couple of hours down roker today to get out the hoose.
it was sunny, rained, hailed and was windy as hell, warm and then cold.
i had 6 rods with me, well 4 but two were the bairns lightning mqueen 2ft spin casters.
i had 3 hook flappers on 2 rods and a single on a carp rod.
had every bait known to man but only used rag and lug.
everyone leaving had nothing and it wasnt looking promising, after a cupla hours and thinking i was wasting my time, i had one last bait up and threw 7 hooks into the drink on the sea side.
a triple flapper with lug, a triple with rag and a single rag.
i had the kids with me, they were at the park with missus and i knew theyd be gettin restless so 10 mins after casting out (1st steps btw) i reeled in me rag rod and thought i had a crab on, i could feel resistance but no fight.
all of a sudden i seen this silver flash and realised i had a fish on saving the blank.
as it came closer in and flashing on the surface i thought had on, i recognise that flash and at once thought nar cant be but being that time of year it was possible and my heart was jumping, i got what was possibly the first mackerell caught this season.
wahey, i was beaming as i swung it over the railings and i must say its one of the bonniest coalfish ive ever seen!

actualy ive been pullin ya plonkers! i didnt have a triple lug, triple rag and a single rag.
it was a single lug!
sorry for any confusion. :0)

LOL Gonzo great report, I can see the chavs marching up roker pier like the 7 dwarfs with there cans, whistling and excited, after reading the thread title haha. :D

spoke to one of me mates who is a deep sea diver on the rigs about 30 mile off. reckons a joey makeral swam past him yesterday, he said it was heading in rokers direction;):D
