New to NESA

Hi mate and welcome to NESA what sort of ground are you looking to fish
I've not used that rod in particular and haven't seen anyone use one but good luck in what finding the rod right.

I fish with a century komp ss and is what I would describe as the best all round rod out there great bite detection and will handle the roughest of ground with ease and isn't much more than you rod your looking at

I Live in the Durham area which covers Mixed and Rough ground. I was an out and out Zippy fan, but was not impressed with their bite detection (Dymic LT 14, 50/50 etc) I have looked at the Century's but had a bad experience with a Carbon Metal so am a bit reluctant to try the newer ones... but we'll see.

Cheers for replying :)

Hi and welcome to the site:).

As for a rod have a look at the Cono-Flex range of rods for mixed ground
i fish with a Cono-Flex Anubis plus 14ft and its the best rod i have used
and i have had some rods in my time (dont tell the wife:D)

If your shoulder is still dicky have you thought about continental style fishing. 16ft rod with fixed spool. i saw a couple of lads recently on the pier with some Penns and i have never seen a cast go so far from a simple lob.
At the moment i use a 525 and a Tip Tornado match but am tempted to go continental.
Mick.
Best deals i can see are 15ft 9 inch Penn rod and the Penn surf reels 8000 at under 200 quid the pair.
Mick. (ps using braid).
