Norway

have you looked in the catch reports Bri? looks like you need to look further afield next year.

Yes some good fishing and excellent fish caught by good anglers whove obviously done their homework. But its a funny old game fishing Bill and you could fish the same places and blank weve done that before:( But we enjoy where we go straightforward to get to and back there next year:)

how did you do bri

Had a good week Tony good weather all week had a laugh and bags of fish i could hardly carry back to the motor! Didnt have the monsters of further north but got 5 double figures to 14lb and it costs half the price of further north.Booked already fornext year:thumbup:

Hi Brian...we done ok mate, we had 8 doublers between the four of us, I had three up to 13.5. Biggest caught 15. Three of them came from behind the digs.
We had to search for the fish but when we found them fishing was good. Last day produced three Halibut but only to about 6lb. We had Cod,Haddock,Halibut,Ling,Dab, Plaice and one of the deep fish Torque or summit like that.
Met up with some Manchester lads who fished a local Salmon Farm as the owner was a Man Utd fan ! They txt us day after we left saying they had two 30lbrs out, but they fished from the actual cages, musta been like being on a boat.
Was the coldest I've been in Norway !!! It's Vega next year mate, booked already

Glad you enjoyed it Ian we were the same regarding looking for fish but good when you found them:) We find if you get fish one day they wont be in the same place the next and the fish are moving about all the time.Leepy n co enjoyed Vega same week as us they had some good fish but some days they struggled to find fish but had success near a fish farm.Dont know what they like to eat from these farms cos weve been told Norwegians have been advised not to eat farmed salmon:o

endless amounts of marks in that area have you spoke to Kurt about space in jan and feb ?

Best fishing I've had in Norway at Saltstraumen and probably the easiest place to get to. There are tons and tons of marks so even if Kurt, John, and Simon have guests there is loads of places to fish. We had doubles on every mark and a good variety of fish with plenty of them.
Price wise it cost us just over £600 for the week for everything but the two lads who booked late saved £100 on flights so just over £500 for them.

If you want to book the out of boat season months you need to msg Kurt not use the booking things online as its classed as shut through the winter

The first session we had in Lauvsnes this year was the best i have had in my life.

In about 2 hours or so i had 8 casts and got 7 fish out. The 8th cast i got snagged up with a decent fish on.

two of the fish i had out that session were 12.5 lb ish, including one first cast! a couple of the others about 8 lb!

It certainly didn't feel cold that night!

Yes proper fishing :) only trouble is it spoils ya fishing when ya get back home :(

We tried few different places. One being Statland which was about 30 kilometres from digs. Looking at charts we knew of a mark which was 70 ft deep from the shore. Sounded great but it was just about unfishable due to tide pull. We moved around the corner to a new house development and fished from there. Water here about 40-50 ft deep. We did really well. I lost a real big one when it got snagged up. Found out later that the village had been victim of a Tsunami few years ago. Looks like all the debri had gone straight into Fjord when clearing up had taken place.
Was nice to try few different spots.
Mick.

My mate Ian (Chief Wigum) was on fire first night. He was pulling them in left right and centre. Had the biggest Cod I seen caught. Also on two hook flapper had 8lber and 4 lber. Easy to get in as well cos we beached them from the jetty we were on.

70 metres not foot, 230 foot!

From my experience most deep water shots dont fish very well over there

I agree to some extent, that mark was too deep I think. I prefer looking for somewhere where the fish are likely to be feeding, a bit shallower, a bit of tide and maybe a muddy bottom for them to feed on.

One of the deep marks did give us a couple of shore caught ling and a torsk though that we probably would never have caught.

Still i think every mark in Norway is deeper than the ones we fish in the North east.
