Parachute Flares.

storrars on the coast road.

not many north east dealers will be cheaper than online though.

Hartlepool marine supplies might be worth a shot as as well

I got 4 from Storrer 2 years ago, not the cheapest but they do try and match price what they can.

If you have nothing at all the "Safety Pack" is worth looking at 3 para flares, 3 orange smoke, 3 red smoke, a air horn and a star burst flare for night..think it was £84

Got mine from Hartlepool marine supplies a couple of years ago, dont think they were to badly priced.
One thing to look out for is the expiery dates on them, as some of the cheaper offers online on flare packs only have a short exp date I found.

offshore flare pack 129.99 online and it will have everything in you need and they last over 3 years so not too bad

and at the end you will have a nice water tight container

Thanks for that lads, i've got 3 hand held flares which have 2 years to run and i;m going to get the parachutes so i can venture beyond the 7 miles.
I think i'll call at Storrar on the way from work, £84 sounds good for all those flares etc, hope you're right Richy..:):)

Used to buy a £1 pack from the sail makers on the fish quay in the 80's, they were just out of date, kept them in the boat for about 10 years, then set them off on bonfire night, (in hind site, very stupid), and they all worked.

Arthur, you could have ended up the Guy Fawkes :o. But yes i also have a couple of 4 year old flares on the boat that i kept rather than throw them away. Just in case the new ones dont work :D:D:o.

popped 2 6 minute orange smokes out here last year, dated 1986!

both worked, it was a still evening and it all descended down to the bottom of the village and filled it with a nice orange fug for ages! the locals were very confused for ages

I would buy a flare pack in year one, then each year add a few extras individually, that way plenty of flares, with differing batches and expiry dates (incase there's a duff batch) and always have a full set of in date ones, without the expense of a full flare pack

the ones that were upto just a few years out of date always stayed on the boat as a backup, who cares about expiry dates when your sinking and the more pyros the better IMHO in date or not

You have to decide what you require as they come in packs eg
coastal, offshore, ocean think ofshore 2 red 2white 2 smoke in container £130 at storrars but if u get there before sat as sale is still on till then.

Hi Jester, Spoke to Andy (Storrars)the other day and hes extended the sale for another week, for sure he will have flares. Most of the stuff had 15% off so you might get a good deal, got myself some Micron Extra antifouling which was £82 -normally £106.
