been a thread on here about limpets for bait, but what about this bait not many i think would of heard of parp.

The old man used to use them, more often in the boat, when we were short of bait. Bit of colour to them but can't remember him catching much.

parp does fish very well , best to collect after a storm of the beaches , there was loads washed up the last big seas , and the cod i had out were full of them ,

why cant you use them fresh. ???

best to collect them after a storm john after they have been washed of the rocks , or if you do collect them fresh put them in a bag till they are smelly and lost there colouring , personally i would wait till after a big sea and collect them , if you catch a cod and it is spewing parp up get it straight on the hook and you will see how good the are

Parp only fishes well just after a really big stir up and is always best used Stinking.
If you are not about to throw up with the smell,it doesn,t fish as well.

Used it a lot in the old days used to cut it out of the rock gullys/pools looks like a sea anemone with gravel on top and smells like shi£ when it goes off. Can be used fresh or minging when used minging it comes back firm after being in the sea , good bait to defeat the bait robbing crabs. Best on rocks however have caught cod of Cambois beach on parp............Dave.

i all so believe imho the cod go in a feeding frenzy while eating parp just over a week ago on the last big seas it was a cod every chuck every one spewing parp up this was in daylight and one of the best sessions i have had in a long while, my best bag of cod of all time was allso when they were feeding on parp on the mixer remember that one dave

Great stuff Parp, the best ones are are brought up off the Wrecks, just prick them and stand on them to squeeze the water out, take home and salt them down for the winter, had some belters off the rock edges.

Supposedly good to use if the fish spew them up or when you gut the fish

The fish i had down the prom last week were full of them so i put them on a trace with the blacks they spewed up ad put it in the freezer for next time
