PB on roker pier

[catch a cod]

Fished roker pier fri night 5-9,after about an hour got a good knock then a slack line,wound in and it felt like a nice fish and when i got it to the surface i could see it was a beauty.Went to hand ball it up and it was thrashing about like mad and afterwhat seemed like ages i somehow got it over the rails.A couple of lads came over and thought it might be a double but it was spot on 9lb.A forum member fishing into the bay had a nice fish at the same time and asked me to weigh it and it was 8lb.Both fish were caught on mussle and lug.Have loads of pics but am useless with computers,a couple of lads took pics and said they would put them on the site.When i gutted the fish i had what looked like an angler fish and a small lobster in its stomach.Had a great night,happy new year to everone.

hello mate me and me mate passed ya coming off around 8 ish seen ya fish ya showed us cracking fat fish it was we decided to try further down after seen yours LOL but nowt wished we got a pic of it ,it wud of been up by now welldone mate

hello gary talking to you last night and took pictures unbelievale fish mate a cracker it looked like a submarine it was an absolute monster you got wat you wanted for chritmas i will try toput pictures on the picture does not do it justice well done again m8 keep it up gary from one jealous angler michael
