Plaice?

Not giving away any secrets when it comes to Plaice marks...

Black Middens prom in North Shields

First gate area on Shields pier

Around the 40 - 44 marks on Shields pier

Off the end of Shields pier

Marsden beach in front of the pub

Hendon Prom can hoy a few out, as can Seaham and Horden beach but not in the numbers or quality of the Shields marks. Nice big ragworm baits on a 1/0 hook hoyed as far as you can usually does the business; to bling or not to bling, well, that is up to you ;)

as said mate 40 marks on ssp the plaice to be:) good lively ragworm is the norm but small frozen peeler baits that are distance chuckable can be killers

Had a few from there myself 10 or so years ago, like dustbin lids I always thought there's gonna be a shore record broke from there

Anyone know what the record is? Just out of interest

Flounder are easily mistaken for plaice when they are juveniles as they also have spots on their back. Imo a picture of the fish is always a good way to help get identification of other people aswell :-D ;-);-)
