hi lads its my 1st real post and i was just wondering if there has been any plaice showing around the south shields area, i havnt been out fishing for awhile and i was just wondering if any has shown abit early.
Marsden beach in front of the Grotto, rag tipped with mackerel.
Blast beach according to the sea angler mag this week.
Does anyone know of any marks were you can fish for place in the blyth/seaton sluice area?![]()
Hello,
Blyth pier and further down at Whitley Pipe are shots to try for plaice, further down again the Middens at North Shields, fish from the beach in front of the carpark. Given some nice settled weather this mark will be popular in the next month or so.
Regards Ian
Pete, i like to fish high to low, just to the left of the Grotto pub forget lug use rag tipped with mackerel and you will need a stand.
agree with whats been said here ,the middens if you use a two hook rig 1up 1down you regulary pull two in at a time ,ragworm 1/0 hooks .best to have a look at low water to see were the rocks are and cast as near to them as you dare at high water.
for the big plaice first gate on south shields pier and mark 44
middens seem to produce bigger bags but not the size of plaice you get at shields pier but you still get them to 2lb which is a good plaice.
