think im gunna try blyth pier, not fished there for years, i had fancied steetly too but im not keen on parking my motor round there as it a little rough.

sea will probs be too heavy for my usual marks

The beach behind Latimers at Whitburn is sheltered off the rocks so most of the big waves are broken by them making it fishable, i'm popping along for a look later so i'll let you know just how big it is.

It's great living at Consett isn't it, I was going to go fishing myself but after looking out of the window I'm having second thoughts, it's snowing again and 235/45/19s arn't exactly the right choice of tyres for getting a grip in the snow. I think I'll cancel the fishing for today, can't cancel work though, will have to try and get to the team valley one way or another.

Anyone living near newcastle, is it snowing there or is the snow just falling on the mountains!!

well balls to it, im skipping the gym and going fishing as soon as i have some dinner. if i can get oot the street i can get fishing.

hope i dont skid into the lad up the streets car again like i did a couple of years ago, he still hasnt learned and still parks it in a silly spot.

my car although still 200hp has traction control now, the one i had then didnt so hopefully that might help me get up the hill??? i hope???

Go for it - we're northerners not nancy southerners...you mark my words that tonight on the news the BBC will be calling it the worst winter on record, Londoners (coz it's the centre of the universe) will be beside themselves with fear and panic buying food supplies

and don't go wrapping up warm either...I fully expect short sleeve vest to be worn at all times ;)

Watch yourself for coming home tonight Ian as according to the local tv it has just said it will get worse this afternoon and this evening. I have to go to the General hospital in Newcastle for 15:45, really looking forward to coming home from there in the big rush, sure to take at least a couple of hours  Just starting to thunder here now too Tony.

Jim.

Conditions

Conditions

Just been listening to Metro radio and police are advising people not to travel if they can avoid it. They are describing conditions as treacherous, don't suppose my boss will understand this though if I ring in to say I'm stuck.

Everyone please take care if you have to travel :exclam:

According to AA roadwatch the A1 is still moving even if it is just 20mph southerly towards Whickham from Gosforth. Northbound seems ok, I will let you know what it is like when I get home Craig.

Consett was on the local news but wasn't too bad compared to previous years, problem is, we havn't had really bad weather here now for a lot of years so people do not know how to drive in it any more.

Jim.

Just been out and the main roads are not bad, just wet.
But the temp is dropping quickly.
Prob is everyone now is driving as though it is ice, even though it is just wet so traffic is very slow.
