why do mp's want to be exempt from the freedom of information act and not have declare how much expenses they are claiming and how much they are earning from 'other jobs'
sorry being flippant
I'd love to be proved different but doubt very much that what anyone says will make any difference at all. He will be no doubt the nicest bloke possible as thats what he's has been trained/briefed to do. I really do hope he takes stuff on-board but, as you've probably guessed, the fact that he's an MP means that in the majority of peoples eyes, that no longer equates to someone who wants the job due to a desire to be of benefit to society, but because it's power and money above everything else
but serious questions... (I haven't read much of the bill)
what if you are solely a boat angler, or fish wrecks outside the 6 mile territorial limit?? will that still be licenced??
what about a written comitment to enforce the inshore commercial fisheries policy?? how many times have we seen gill nets within yards of the shore or trawlers less than half a mile off??
Is it England, england & wales, or the whole UK. (no rod licences needed in scotland at the mo)??
If its just England and Wales, will SMP's get to vote on it like they do everything else that affects us and not them??
any Mention of a closed season??
why can't this be combined with coarse/game licencing. the infrastructure is there already, so the set-up costs will be minimal. the baliffs are already around.
If there are to be dedicated baliffs, what powers are they likely to have and what enforcement would be proposed for 'offenders'
perfect example might be, shields or roker pier end of july, I'd guess you could see as many as 100 or more 'anglers'(!) in a 24 hour period on there.
with numbers as that I can't see any reason why there shouldn't be daily enforcement of licencing. 1 Baliff could quite easily cover all the major piers in the north east in a day
bottom line really is what can we expect from them in return for our hard earned, and where's the evidence to support it??
I've said before I'd happily pay for a Licence if it actually meant something and the sport/environment/fish stocks could be seen to benefit. Especially if it gets ride of some of the fecking aresholes who inhabit some of the better places to fish in the north east.
