I think its a 26 with no shrink and 28 by time shrink is on but not 100%

It's got a tapered butt so if you fish with the reel near the bottom of the rod you'll need a 30mm. I fish reel up and found I had to really pack loads of tape under the reel-seat & it was well bulky, so I got my rod-builder to remove the butt ring and slide a 28mm down from the top which fitted much better (if you've got a 13ft model there's no butt ring anyway so this is much easier to do) then got the ring whipped back on. At the same time I had that old horrible slippery shrink tube replaced with the nice velvety Japanese stuff from Century, which may be a little thicker, but not as thick as the criss-cross stuff, so that might have an effect too depending what you've got on your rod.

Yeah, just to clarify, mine's a 14ft version which does have a tapered butt & a ring on it, as you say the 13ft doesn't have the ring (I didn't realise it has a parallel butt as well). Just that Rocker doesn't say whether he has the 13ft or 14ft version.

I bought the rod with coasters, and the one I bought went over the shrink wrap and I had to put a bit of tape under it! So I'm guessing its a 30? But It dosnt grip the foot on my sloshes. And I've broke it trying to crank it too tight!
I wonder if I can get a 28mm Imax one on?

Yeah, that was another reason I had to get rid of the 30mm seat - my sloshes & saltists would wobble under load as the seat wouldn't tighten right up & was pressing up against the baseplate of the reels. Putting the 28mm one on from the top solved the problem for me, but I can't remember how far down it would slide before jamming up against the taper of the butt - I know it certainly wouldn't go all the way down. I haven't seen the Imax seats, but I know different makes might have different tolerances, so it might go on from the bottom (but somehow I doubt it).

Just like to add this!
I rang greys to ask them if they knew the correct size reel seat for my rod.
I got an answer machine, so left a message and my number.
After about an hour I got a call back and the guy confirmed I had the right size reel seat to fit over the shrink tube (30mm) and said he would send some reel seat pads for free to sort my problem of reel rock.
Can't say fairer than that!
Here they are, I havnt tried em yet though!
