After poor weather here in Lanzarotte and not getting a sniff from th big uns for the first two weeks the sun finally came out. For the last few days I could still not get a big un interested, so today decided to have go where some of the locals fish, have seen them with a few decent bream about 1lb in their bucketfulls of little fish. Decided that their tactics for bottom feeding fish and a good tide pull into the lagoon was not really right for the conditions, floatfishing with a wishbone rig on the end. Decided I would use a 3 hook, size 4 carp hooks on 6" snoods, set up, with a 1ounce lead. Theory being the lead would hold my baits in place rather than being dragged by a float. Well it paid off filled a bucket with black bream all around the 1lb, (18 to the bucket) bloody good scrap on a light rod and after getting the double up a few times the locals started saying "gringo dos" each time after that. Started giving them away after that and a few escaped from the bucket back to wkere they came. Mate I am staing with was very greatful for the bucket of fish, kept a couple for dinner, loads of meat on them. To hell with this big fish hunting best hour and halfs fishinh I have had for users

Dads there at the moment, if you see a grumpy old pit yacker with a rod give him a shout from me - he wont be catching anything

Good fun on the light gear Alan, nice fishing
