I have an old Mitchell reel ,but still in great condition .but every so often when you turn the handle the handle turns but the spool does not ,so i havnt used it for quite a long time now ,A few years ago i put it in ID fISHING in Shields who said they repaired it but, it still has the same problem ,,,,Any Ideas on how to repair it

I had the same thing on a daiwa emcast,if you open your side plate, you,ll see the main shaft going through a big cog, there is a small screw on the cog these have a tendancy to wiggle loose,1st make sure the main rod is pushed back into the reel then tighten the screw.I hope this helps
