Me and Pete from Shields had a canny session in Roker last night. We fished from about 7.30pm over last light and high water packing in about 2am. We started off at Roker pier and were getting knocks from the off with plenty of small fish about but nothing of size landed. There were only two other lads fishing on the pier and they left about an hour after we got there so we had the place to ourselves for a while until a couple of others turned up later on. As high water approached the wind started getting up and the fishing went quiet. So after about an hour of very little we decided to go to the Rathouse to use up the rest of our bait. Once again lots of small stuff landed but nothing of size. So a fun evening. I caught the most fish (sixteen) and Pete caught the biggest (33cm codling).

It was a nice night out fishing and good company, good laugh aswell. It was probably the worst session I've had in a long while though, just about everything went against me, like I said last night I'm pretty sure I'm cursed.

Funny place is Roker pier with tide pull seeming to go the opposite direction of the tide, I thought my codling was a lot bigger than what is was while reeling it in because of the tide pull aswell. At least neither of us blanked though. :)

Well done lads. That wind last night was a strange one, it got up for about an hour before HT blowing quite strong down the river then died off again completely about half nine
