Roker Pier/River Tyne - 2.3.12

I decided to do a morning session for once and fish in the mild air we have had before it turns a little cooler. Anyways i fished the tide at Roker Pier, got there at 9.30am. The water was like a mill pond at first, the sun was trying to burn the faint mist away, was like makeral season 2month early.

Two hours had gone by and still not one fish, not even a nibble from a crab. A few lads were coming off saying there was Sweet F.A from the Roundhead/bunker. The time turned 12.30pm, so i headed off to the river Tyne to see if i could hook something there, anything to stop a hatrick off blanks. I fished for two hours and still nothing at all. Two hook flappers for any small fish fancying it and even a big lug pennel bait because you never know lol!

So i blanked but i did enjoy getting out in this mild weather, sun was shining from the start. :)

Lovely day to be out with your rod Skott. You fished the exact same spot on the Tyne I was at last night. I find it fishes better in the dark there though there wasn't much about last night either.

Yeah i prefer the nights aswell. Wherever i go i always seem to end up at that place lol. Comfortable spot with plenty going on in the river to watch.

Well if it is any comfort to you I was at the Rat House from 10am until 2.30 and like you touched nothing. Of the 9 others who were there or left while i was there, only one fish was caught and that was one of those you cant believe could get a hook in its mouth, no-one was getting bites. DESPERATE. thats a lot of hours for one fish.

Think you can just make me out standing on end of ratty haha! Also blanked, Had fun watching seal mooching about next to me though.
