Rubber Factory Access

Alright ppl

Thinking of fishing rubber factory can anyone tell me how to get access. I KNOW WHERE IT is but there is a metal spiked fence just wondering how i get in.

There was a gap in the fence which has recently closed up again, so you have to climb over the part with the bent down spikes.

i fish it all the time mate. fish it a couple of hours either side of high/low water on medium to smaller tides otherwise tackle losses are high, especially if you fish the bottom corner as you first come on. you also need a decent chuck to clear the snags.

i prefer to fish the top wall on the last of the flood and first of ebb, hope this helps bud.

you will for the top wall and i would say 70/80 yds should be enough. its my favourite place to fish when its flat, i've had some brilliant bags of codling up until the middle of november.

They must have just fixed the fence have they?
I went last week and the fence was flattened...
they fix the fence every week welded it last time ,some one is going to slip climbing over in the icey weather ,far better to go to smiths a few yards away where it is safe for both young and old, topbanna and alot of the lads have had a lot of big bags from here . davy

Cheers will have to look in to smiths, not somewhere I am familiar with, I have been scouting the north banks recently but its nearly all private from Walker to N Shields.

I went to rubber factory the weekend before last for the 1st time since I was a teenager, the fence was flat so I had no climbing to do, and I assumed it had been like that for a while.
TBH Im not in a hurry to go back, its the most rat infested place I have been in my life. Rats dont bother me but these buggers were out in numbers and everytime I turned my back were in to my gear. Spent more time chasing them than I did watching me rod. Not fun at all, quite annoying.

Had some canny bites but my hooks were probably on the large size looking for a good fish so I didnt hook up with anything in the 3 hrs I was there.

Did see a double figure fish break the surface tho but water was too murky to make out what it was in the brief second I seen it. Looked a reddish brown colour, but so did the water so could have been any species.

If you go down the path in-between the trees where the entrance of the marina is you can go round the fence saves pulling stuff apart.

I will keep that in mind mate. I haven't been down for a few weeks but the last time I was down someone had bent one of the temporary fencing sections double and in my opinion gives us a bad name.
