Well every year i see the same sad sight and i am sure alot of you will know what i am on about.
I wont mention the mark but went for a walk with the dog before the rain started last night and seen the june-september stacks of dead unwanted mackerel.
Why cant people put them back? if mackerel shoals are close in you can catch 50-100+ a session easy, very little skill in it. I love fishing for mackerel on light gear and fish hours after i have caught what i want for the winter but always put the rest back.(with out touching them if possible)
Had a word with this 50+ man and 2 sons last night about why they had kept so many (3 bags full and a stack on the ground) and are still killing them. Answer was "its good fun and why should we put them back".
I then asked what he was going to do with them...guess.....
"for the cat"...that must be one fat cat now then
Anyway i rant over the same thing every year so thats this years over with.
Such a bloody shame it is.
