sea anglers together

have wanted to do this for sometime and now i will, presume it will stir up some issues

1, every time i come on here, someone says i caught xyz at a secret location

2, people ask where is the secret location

3, they all say nothing

reason i am cheesed, fish are short i agree, but in this crunch a lot of anglers cannot afford to go out anymore, because they are predominately pleasure anglers and i believe they will be lost to the sport, but this will eventually affect the dealers, so why not start to help the medium anglers and those who only go once and a blue moon, me if i caught well somewhere i would let on

All I can say is I agree but then you have all the other less open anglers in the frame of mind yi only get out of fishin what yi put in and to be honest whats the harm in sharing the joy especially when they have all ready caught on the mark to give a good report so personally speaking its just a load of sour GRAPES!!!!

Each to there own coz some things will never change and the other spin on things is match anglers after points.

I take it that this is angled towards me..............

If you can't afford to go fishing with standard bait from tackle shops then how the hell are you going to afford bait straight from a digger? Yellows, blacks and whites all cost a hell of a lot of money. They do help catch more fish but it's not just bait, you need to learn more about marks that you are fishing. Why should good anglers spend the time and effort finding such marks and then pass them onto people who just want the easy route to catching fish? I don't fish many matches nor do I post many catch reports for the simple fact, that I get this every time that I do. I regularly give advice on this forum and I'm sure there are plenty anglers on here who will back me up...I hope lol:p

Lets put it another way, you have invented this great recipe for whatever dish and it makes you a load of money. Are you going to give it to every Tom, Dick and Harry so they can reap the benefits from your idea? Me thinks not.

Put your dummy back in and stop blaming others for your lack of fish, I know fishing is frustrating at times but really is there any need for this thread?

Did you or did you not post a thread called Mark X on the 6th? Granted you gave clues but you did not reveal the location, which is an illegal mark by the way.:red:

Well said Sean. I've documented in the past how easy a tool the internet is for getting info on marks. People are getting lazier with it, particularly the younger 'I want it now' generation.

I spent many hours fishing marks around the Sunderland area in my youth, collating all the info, until it got to the stage that I was extremely confident of my ability to find somewhere that fishes in certain conditions. When I started to fish the opens up and down the coast, I learned to watch the top anglers, follow them in some instances, and talk to them. Jim Dobie was a mine of information, told me about the fishing in Kirkcudbright and got me going up there to the extent that I've been regularly going up there for 20 years....and then its back to learning again, different species, different marks, different baits.....thats part of fishing I love.

As other board members will notice, I'll give out advice whenever its needed, but don't bother asking what conditions, tides etc for certain marks as you'll be greeted by a wall of silence - in other words, get out there yourself and find out.

I dont know why less successful anglers dont ask to tag along with the more experienced (like Davy says he did with JD) instead of expecting them to post a life times work on a public forum

Davy you have a PM

TO SEAN,

My dummy is back in lol I wasn't aiming anything at you whatsoever and if it came across that way I hold my hands up and appologise its just my personal opinion about the secrecy thing and yes I'm guilty of the mark x issue fair point see your side of things as I have been fishing for 32 years myself and theres a hell of alot of things you learn from only getting out there and experiencing!
I never have a prob with talking about when and where I have caught and I agree with the issue of effort like i get out of my sack to dig bait at day break regular coz its worth it to have fresh to get the edge plus saves money:)

anyway i hope you had a canny night and be nice to see the fish!;)

Who give a s*** where it was caught if people want to keep it to themselves and let them its always nice to here and see pics of big fish gives you a bit hope lol even if they dont tell you where they were fishing you never get 2 day the same anyway.

I dont mind telling people where i fish and what i catch thats my choice.

Ha way Sean get ya a*** out of bed and get the pics up lol.
