What do you all think of a sea fishing licence, I think it could be a good thing if am right there would invest the money into our sea fishing (like cleaning our piers up add more life saving equipment for the unlucky ones falling in. And more waste bins and I might be dreaming a bit but we could do with more toilets beside our seas and rivers even if you needed some sort of card to use them so you could use them 24-7 am I just dreaming here lads

No chance.

I wouldn't pay for a license unless they guarenteed me no gill netters, trawlers etc.. Within 10 miles of the shore.

They've ruined it already.

a would`nt either, just because they would take my money, then 4 weeks later send me a letter saying that the violence on my criminal record from years ago is against policy issue...........!

thats an idea

thats an idea

Sounds logical, like freshwater fishing, could put off anglers who dont care about abusing our beachers and shore lines. But probs never work money would be abused and like people have said they woulnt pay but sounds a responsible idea as long as it was regulated and cheap??

im all in favour of doing something to help improve our fishing, and would love to see people keeping small fish, mis treeting catch removed, but realisticly just can`t see it.....!

None Starter Of An Idea The Enviroment Agency is thin on the ground policing the coarse and game anglers. They have two chances of policing sea anglers 'FAT' and 'NO'.
It just wouldn't work having a sea angling license.

I agree

I agree

Ive not been on this site long but have fished since I could walk, mainly fresh water, but most abuse of fish mentioned on this site are reported on piers, probably if your so ignorant to abuse fish wild life other pier uses maybe it should be on piers only like a toll charge of a small amount, this could increase the checks the dea? make and promote responsible fishing. Ive never mmet an irresponsible angler shore fishing. It takes some graft to learn to cast long and walk to popular fishing marks!!!!

not the EA that would police it, they are for rivers, it would be IFCA's or DEFRA, but would be impossible to do anyway

true totally impossible to police it, would cost millions to do so having to employ thousands of baliffs to patrol the whole of the british shoreline

plus they wud be more accidents to these bailiffs slipping on brown stuff from what anglers have left or iz that a good answer so ya have time to get away :D

good idea ,but impossible to police as there is far too much coastline for people to fish so making it to hard for authorities to cover. What may be a better idea is a charge to use piers and popular venues. The cash raised could be used to provide bins, lifebouys etc.I would pay a coupleof quid if I knew the money would be used to maintain the fishing spots!
