Fished with a mate and his son last night down their neck of the woods.
After the usual rush to get me gear together I eventually got down there at 5.30pm.
We walked down to the mark with high hopes as it looked perfect

After fluffing me first cast and the lead travelling about 50yards, I thought that i was then doomed for a bad night
After pulling out the nest I decided to reel in and try again, only to get a big knock
Struck in to a big rock Was using a pennel pulley. Anyway gave it slack line and walked up and down the beach a few times but me bottom hook was stuck fast After about 15mins I decided to to pull for it It freed up, I felt the fish and then..........................it went light

Thought this is it it's gonna be a good'un

We used Lug,rag, mussell, runnydown, razor and squid and got a shed load of bites but nowt came back after the first initial attack
We fetched in a few whities one of a real good size and me mates son lost a canny fish close to the shore, looked like it was gonna be big then gone!!!!!!

Me mate managed to get a little flattie and I managed to get a codling that I could fit into the palm of me Hand Me 3/0 hook was bigger

As the night drew on we were very surprised that no cod had shown as the conditions had been top draw

At 2.30pm and on my last cast...........youv'e guessed it I hooked into a cod
Weighing a huge 1lb 3oz it didn't matter it was a cod at last

Anyway we chucked out one more time and then gave up at 3.00am

A cracking night even tho' the fishing wasn't up to much and it was good to get to a new venue, Cheers to me mate for taking me there and showing me the mark!!!!

Cheers

the famous Blast Beach...

Fish the Blast regular Tony,Its a good shot and holds some big fish. Can be a graveyard for ya gear though.
Was best when Dawdon Pit was open and all the slurry was gettin pumped into the water. On a night session you could build a large fire with the coal that was lying on the beach and it would last all night. Ahh the good old days.

idd the blast is a graveyard for gear, dont think there is many clear shots around the blast,i used to fish the chems a lot and that was even worse .

Cheers Penn I see it now and would you believe it the first one is showing now aswell Lol.

First time I ever fished there the other night and found it to be a graveyard alright, but still a canny shot and will deffo be back.

I can see where I was in the pic and that bloody steep hill back to the car aswell Lol !!!!

Might see you down there some time Blackrat.

Cheers
