i fished on for another half hour and didnt see anyone on camels when i went past so unless they were around the back on the north side then they must have swam off cos it was still an island at 4.45!
I was mate, I find codling quite bland at times, although I still munch it down with a nice bread crumb coating or tempura batter, but whiting deheaded and gutted baked in oven with some herbs/garlic briliant or blocked covered in flour and cooked on grill plate delicious. Got to have variety.
There were 2 wrasse caught at souter today both about the 2lb mark. Was it the guys with the brolly up that you spoke to on the very point of souter magpies? If so then i was just to the north of them under the other brolly the other wrasse was caught to the left of me, they also had a nice codling of about 5lb. Hard work in that wind today.
Yeah that's the lads mate, I enjoyed wandering around learning some spots and as always the lads were very helpful. I spoke briefly to one bloke who was walking off Marsden cliffs back to his car with his rod as I arrived. That was about 14:30 I guess. Anyway he said he had 5 cod but didn't say any more. I don't know where he finished but he must have done Ok
