Cant say why a slosh 20 cant handle the rough stuff...

A used mine on the rocks b4 and never had a problem, it heaved in my PB wrasse of 4lb 12ozs. Had a few sessions on the rocks after that but av never been on the rocks since...

Time to get a new rock rod for me!!:D

Yeah but it'll depend on line dia. You'll get a lot more 30lb F1 or similar line on the spool than say sensor which is much thicker. So in my opinion a sl20 will be ok for rough ground but you may have to use thinner line to get more on and as it's more expensive maybe not such a good idea in rough ground. Having said that, what is the line capacity of a sl20 with say 0.5 dia line, I'll bet it's enough to fish any mark, rough or clean.

I bet it's not!

25lb sensor would be alot better than 30lb f1 for rough ground. ive used f1 and its only good for clean beaches IMO.

Yeah that was my last point, I bet you can get enough sensor 25lb (or heavier) on a sl20 to fish any mark, the sl20 will cope no bother with the ground in my opinion but this combo would obviously have it's price in terms of casting distance, if it's necessary to cast a mile, which I doubt in most cases.

ive used slosh 20s for five years with 35 to 4olb straight through atseahouses beadnell slaty sharpness with out any bother you only need 50 60 yard lobs in thr rough never emtyed my reel yet

cheers
