Sonik SK3

With me just being a relative novice at sea fishing- only starting in August, i started with second hand gear just to make sure i was going to enjoy myself. Anyhow i've gradually upgraded the reels and invested in other better quality tackle/lines etc. So this time I've bought a sonik sk3 13ft 5-7oz rod. I normally go on clean/relatively clean beaches. Question have i done the right thing? Anybody got any experience of this rod or tips for using it to it full potential.
any advice is greatfully received.

good enough rod for what you use it for , just be carefull of it falling over , the rings are fairly rubbish and the inner rings smash out.

I've just bought 1 of these 2 weeks ago on my return to sea fishing ( ive owned century tip tornados, greys orion/appollos and a conoflex blast and compared to those i cant really fault it ( for the price) , as mentioned the rings aint the best but what do you expect for the price.

Theres lots of horror stories about it i.e my mates mates mate etc rod snapped... if you bought new you have a lifetime replacement guarentee - so no probs there.

Youve got it, so get out and use it  and enjoy it.

Thanks for the tips.
Being nearly 50 and a bad back sufferer i was a bit concerned about loading the rod properly to maximise the distance. I guess like everything practice is the key.
Thanks again

cant fault them me used both and love them, i now jsut have an sk4 and use it everywhere i go, rocks piers beaches i did the same with my sk3 and not had any issues with them.

Davy have u used the NCT yet

Two of the best Rods i own is the Sk3 & Sk4 carnt fault either. Before i bought the sk4 i used the sk3 on some of the roughest ground North of the Tyne and never had any problems. Dont be put off by the snapy snap stories, for the price these are great value rods.
