St abbs head???

Can you park at the light house at st abbs head? is the road leading upto it private or public access??

any help will be much apriciated!

Phil if things are as they were last year the road says private or no entry but it's not. Make sure you close the gate past the bungalows and try not to drive into the ditch lol. You can park at the lighthouse or at Pettico Wick.

whats the best tacktics up there this time of year Stores, was thinking about floating for pollock and wrasse, a bit spinning as well, do you think its worth taking the big rods as well and trying for a few cod?

If you're going to the Head itself I would try spinning or teasing a ragworm for wrasse. (I would tease a mussel myself but I'm considered strange) Though it looks as though there should be loads of codling there's comparitively few compared to the numbers who get down there, count the bottles and bags if you don't believe me. Don't know if you've been before but there's marks left and right of the lighthouse. They're all a bit up and down lol.

cheers mate, think i'll stick to the light tacktics then, was looking at the mark to the right of the lighthouse (as you look to sea) i didnt fancy carrying the big gear down there anyway lol
