Just back from a cracking weekend up in the borders, camping at Coldingham. We had the kids with us so were restricted as to where to fish, and to be honest we found it hard to drag ourselves away from the bbq and the cold beers of the campsite! Friday night we were still in shorts and t shirts at midnight in 20 degrees around the bbq!:)
Anyway, onto the fishing! We had a couple of half hearted sessions at St. Abbs harbour, fishing from the rocks at the end of the south pier. We only had the spinning rods, but the kids enjoyed themselves catching any amount of mackeral on spinners, all returned bar 2 for supper!

We also tried a bit float fishing in the gulleys, and took quite a few wrasse to about 3 pound on ragworm. We also tried out some rubber/soft plastic ragworm which produced a couple of wrasse.

A nice weekend, with the boys getting a few fish! Happy days!
Heading back up in a couple of weeks, with a view to trying a few marks around the head!:)

so you took my advice on the pm,well done mate, would of got you the charter skippers number quicker but I didn't realise you were going up so quick, great for the bairns:)

No bother Chris, we seen fishing trips advertised, but they were for thursdays and sundays I think! Must say, was sceptical as to whether rubber/plastic ragworm would work on the float, but after getting some from reelsport, we gave it a go and landed a couple of wrasse!:)

Good report and pics. It's good to see you're showing the lads the wright way to fish, keep a couple and put the rest back.
Well done.
