summer....... who goes where and for what.

love st abbs bill but struggled to get back up cliffs the last two years, this might be my last year there ,still theres always eyemouth. davy.

It would kill me now Davy getting up those cliffs aslong as we get a decent summer I will be happy as last year has to be the worst summer ever.

My plans for this summer include.

Obligatory flatty bashing in the summer league

Catch a Red cod from Craster !

Have a few trips up Eyemouth for the pollock and wrasse fishing

Would love to have a bash over the west coast one weekend too !

And finally
Find a decent fresh crab supplier for the above :)

Eyemouth for me, brilliant for wrasse

Want to go to jersey for a week as had a couple of cracking rays off st caths year before last but a rough ferry ride last year has put the blocker on that as wor lass was hoying up all the way across. Looking at the isle of wight as a compromise but not yet decided.

Also a couple of seshes up coldingham because it's such a nice place.

I'll have a couple of trips up craster and the likes but last of all good auld ssp, hopefully the plaice will be plentiful this year as last year was crap for me, the year before they were hoying themselves on:)

Bill - me and Rod have promised ourselves a day on our way back from Arbroath this summer. It'll be Saturday 27th July. Happy to meet up and/or organise something for the lads on the board, if you're interested.

what u mean by that dave ?lol i struggled on bell hill the first time with u but i know now after that 2 travel lite lol i had enough lead 2 sink a ship with me & only lost 2 leads & i also had 4 reels, 2 rods big bucket of fresh crab, big bottle of pop & the sink 2 wash my catch. been up & down the hill 4 times since then & i run up now lmao.

I love fising for the reddies in the summer months up northumberland. I'm going spend a few hours local this year aswell, south crab hill, north crab hill, st marys, Hartley etc. They all have heavy ground with plenty of veg so surely they've got to be worth a shot ? I've had some good sessions on st marys in the summer but what about the other marks ?

north crab hill is a good reddie mark m8 as is hartley i get most of my local reddies from the cresent, island & the very end of hartley skeer its a thick forest of kelp on the big tides.

I can't wait for the summer fishing me like. It's my favourite time of the year especially the pollack bashing. I like the winter fishing but never do so well getting decent coddies but lure fishing for pollack in the summer always gets me some good fish. Locally I've only ever fished SSP and Dunstanborough for pollack but this year I am looking to find some new marks close to home so if anyone can recommend somewhere within an hour or so drive of the Tyne I would love to hear about it.

In May I am off on my annual pilgramage to Chesil Beach where I will be species hunting with bait (guaranteed doggies, pout, poor cod and always the chance of a bass) and also lure fishing for bass and mackerel. From there we are travelling to south Cornwall for a week where I will be float fishing and spinning off various rock marks.

In August I will be doing some serious pollack bashing at my favourite mark in NE Scotland (Aberdeenshire). I lost some whoppers on the retrieve last year through various reasons but I am back this year to try again and hopefully keep some on my hook.:D

as per.....two week long trips too wales :D

both include the llyn peninsula and anglesey.

port carlisle, eyemouth, holderness & filey brigg shall be included in there too :)

April = Port Carlisle for great flatty fishing and possibly St Abbs for the first of the pollack, weather permitting

May = Anglesey for Huss, Smoothound and Spurdog (boat) Dimlington to on the Holderness for the first of the hounds. Horden a possibility for thornies to.

June = St Abbs and Kirkcudbright

July = Norway boat fishing for pollack and coalies

August = Boat trip at Whitby, possible visit to Port Logan and St Abbs for pollack and wrasse

September = St Abbs

I'd love to fit in a trip to Chapel point in Lincolnshire for the hounds and also do the summer stuff at Arbroath as it's fantastic up there. Will need to win the lottery though lol.

In between it should be flatty fishing at Hebburn. I pray for a good summer so we can make up for last, summers also my favourite time to get out and about fishing. I hope you all have a great time and the sun shines!
