Sunderland v Newcastle

Surely the original "dig" was aimed at how people form Sunderland pronounce "cheesey" not the fact they are eaten??? Something along the lines of "Whees Kees"

Been going to Sunderland over 35 years (admittedly only match days) and I've never seen anyone eating cheese & chips.

Having said that they may sell them in the ground, I've never looked at food menu, I'm normally in the other queue waiting to pay £3.70 for a crap pint :D

true, no place is without its deprived areas....Sunderland was made to look very shabby on that C5 documentary

BTW - Sick of hearing about the horse aswell, mind you I thought 12 months was harsh!! thats what he got right?
I mean he didnt really "punch" the horse and given the ridiculos punishments handed out for animal cruelty 12 months is very harsh based on that. I think 2 years is the maximum punishment in English/Welsh law

Note the timing of that harsh sentence mate. coincidence or what?:D

I think his sentence was based more on why he was there i.e. violent disorder.

If the police and horses weren't there I don't think he'd of been acting the model citizen.

only 90% does that make you just "Lastic" :D:D

no keith, according to the crack im just a "c":D

aye, from what i know the cheesy chips thing is a mickey take out of the accent not the cuisine, but i thought the picture was funny anyway!

bit of a funny derby this one, most of the mackems i know playing it cool, stating they expect to get beat so they aren't bothered, it's a bit of a no lose for you lot, bottom of the league one point, look destined for relegation so they can say they expect nothing from the game, i suspect they are hoping for a great performance, 3 points and the start of a good run to kick start their season.

if it wasn't a derby game the toon would be nailed on 3 points, remy is class, shame he's only with us on loan, watched him properly 2 or 3 times he's hungry, quick and direct, if hba, cabaye and co turn up it could be a massacre judging by your back 4 who are lacking quality and confidence.

i would say good luck for sunday , but i wouldn't mean it! probably just a roll the dice..........:D

Yes keith I am aware of the offence the guy committed, it's the timing of the sentencing I was on about.

Yeah, know what you mean mate, I posted that for the lad who thinks the sentence is harsh.

OK mate. On the subject of whether the sentence was harsh, yer would probably get less porridge for hitting a granny over the head with a wooden club and nicking her purse or even sextually abusing youngins. Justice system is total crap IMO.:)

Not sure the majority of players on both sides know what THE derby is all about, you hit the nail on the head with "if they turn up". Normally we don't or they just can't handle the occasion. But you never know and if I thought we had no chance i wouldn't bother going.

Not sure we are "destined for relegation" just yet, still only 7 points from safety with lots to play for and a transfer window not too far off, we might get another 14 in and there might be a gem amongst them :D.

Enjoy the game ;)

cheers keith but i'll only be able to enjoy it when we're 2 goals up! most of the players no what it is about, they are just lads like us, and throughout their careers have been involved in derbies from being young, sometimes better off if the players don't know and just play the game not the occasion, cattermole and tiote prime examples of how to get booked / sent off and lose their team the game.

i love / hate the derbies in eqaul measure!

we'll see

enjoy the game;)

Those two don't need a derby to get booked or sent off lol.

aye , your'e right, thing is tiote is like that in training, it's not an act or something he tries to do , he's just naturally really aggressive in every tackle, be nice to see the two of them have a proper midfield battle, no cheap shots or cheap yellows, they can both play a bit, tiote was class against liverpool last week.

still think Sunderland will get their first win, albeit a scrappy one. and the ****wits will kick off and shame us again

trying to work out wether I hate the week before a derby more than the week after if the result goes the wrong way

Regardless of how other crimes, are compared against this one, without a
police force, you have anarchy, and to attack serving police officers, trying
to keep an incendiary situation under control, you deserve any sentence
the judiciary see fit to pass.
The same as the vermin throwing bottles, each and every one deserved
a jail sentence. Can you imagine what would have ensued, had those
police not been there? People may have quite possibly been murdered.
The only way,to get through to the mindless cretins, that terrorise ordinary
decent folk,in and around football grounds,is to bang them up,the longer
the better,in my book.
Put it this way,you can be virtually guaranteed, when this berk's served
the six months or so,and is released,he will never cause another minutes
bother in his life.

Football violence has always been a factor. The worse thing that could of happened to football was the likes of green street the firm football factory and so on it glorifies it to make it look like you have the time of your life drink take drugs meet us mates in the pubs every night super stars. The reality of it is some what different.

How can u blame films for football hooliganism? 70's &.80's was the worst time, the films were released in the naughties !

That's like slating the godfather films for glorifying the mob!

All this about a horse puncher and daft chavs & other football related minor crimes, but you don't mention the sunderland strangler who was in court the same day for heinous crimes? :confused:unbelievable

?? Dont get what youre on about Gordon?
Wanted to say - love cheesy chips, but with addition of garlic sauce.

Also prediction - mackems 1 - 1 mags
As said before hope Sunderland win and go onwards and upwards from there otherwise its relegation for sure, but Newcastle have a much better team.....draw.
