Bit of a late report but me and the old man managed to get out yesterday, to do what keeps us going.

It was a bit of a strange day, sea state wise as it kept changing from almost flat to pretty choppy off and on throughout the day.

We headed north out of Hartepool to fish the rough ground and try a few wrecks on the way. It was a bit of a slow day catching the odd fish here and their, we did'nt get a great load of fish but had a mixed bag.
Just thankfull to get out their.

Catch was;

About 8 codling, biggest 5 1/2 lb most around 2-3 lb,
4-5 small ling,
A few pouting,
Few whiteys
And a nice little flatty ( a dab maybe ).

One of the wrecks we fish always produces a load of pouting ( now named pouting wreck), but we aso always pull a load of these slimey things in

they look like large limpet lol
i dunno what they are never caught one myself
nice fish by the way mate

Flattie was taken on mackeral baited hokkais over rough ground aswell.
Their must have been a sandy patch down their somewear maybe.
 
Well done mate , great report and good to have the pictures to tell the story, excellent. Seems like a good start to the season eh?
