aye I have to agree mate, good service, good quality bait. ive just started going to moonfleet after switching from another tackle shop cos of poor quality bait, I think other tackle shops need to step up to the mark if they want to compete, my only "complaint" I tried to order blacks and some yellas on the Friday said they wernt expecting any in till the Saturday so wouldn't take my order, got there 12 on the Saturday got some blacks but they had sold out of yellas..... suppose its the old saying "the early bird gets the worm" eh?

Just so everyone is aware, the crabs were bought in bulk and regardless of size, someone has taken the time to catch, shell,de lung and then vac pack. they then expect to be paid for this service. The crabs are then put up for sale for people to either buy or not buy, we offer the best fresh baits in the area without doubt, we have to take in crab in large numbers just to secure them, as the owner I am responsible for the quality of the baits we sell, we will never please everyone so I am happy for customers to shop around, I actually encourage it, we will not be beaten on the quality of fresh baits, this particular batch of frozen welsh crab is quite small but on the flip side we do have a lot of match anglers buying them because they are the ideal size.
If there is something your not happy with in Moonfleet then please speak up and tell me, it certainly doesn't do any good bitching on here, you can do that if I dont act on your feedback, I try to give the best service possible, half my customers saying they are happy to my face to buy small crab and then there are those who blog but say nothing to the shop.....I think I would say something in the shop myself but thats just me, I think everyone should ask to see their worms put up in front of them so they can see what they are paying for but I guess I am just obnoxious in that way, everyone can please feel free to offer criticism good or bad in the shop, thats the only way I will change anything, I wont change anything written by keyboard warriors as they hide behind a computer, please please say something in the shop, I will thank you for it, how can we get better if you dont say something.

no one forced anyone to buy them am just stating the abvious iff peller are small other shops would hoy a couple more in with them thats all iff hes selling plenty fair play to him rant ova

Well said paul I find the price of the crab reasonable at this time of year I have no complaints at all with any of your products 1st class bait and top crack at the shop it seems you can,t please everyone m8 its just a shame a positive blog was slightly hijacked . I totally agree if you have anything to say its best said at the shop to your face so you can deal with it thanks again moonfleet:thumbup::thumbup:

point taken but unfortunately this year has been terrible for crab, I have been forced to buy these sizes just to have them available for customers, we have been promised more, when we had fresh crab we had complaints from match lads that they were too big....just cant win,
wen I buy fresh crab in there are often smaller crabs doubled up and we pass that on to the customer, we dont have that luxury with frozen which are sold in packs, anyway please feel free in future to comment about anything in the shop direct, I will than you for it, and also positive and constructive criticism will only improve our service to you all

Very good professional reply good to see mate however I can't see how or why the match lads would complain about big crab as you can cut them into sections per bait but like you said they are there if you want them. No one is forced to buy your crab.

Have to say been to moonfleet twice now for bait the lug is spot on and the black's are spot on i will be a returning customer well done all involved in moonfleet your doing something right

Good reply there mate. To be fair like its crab, and it's coming into the winter. Regardless of size being able to get any crab this time of year is like a luxury don't see why people moan. If your not happy take them back or in the first place take a look and if you don't like them don't buy them. It's sad seeing people bitch on here like about something like this. Like Paul said he's happy to discuss any matter face to face to get a problem resolved. Rant over keep up the good work!

I don't see how anyone can complain about the crab in Moonfleet. I was in there on Saturday morning for my bait. When I mentioned the peeler the first thing Andy said was have a look at them first cos they aren't very big. You can't get any fairer than that. I still bought some. It's things like that why I won't go anywhere else for my bait.

its all to do with presentation of the bait for the match anglers, they ask for small crab so they look "right" dont ask me phill, as a boat angler I put big baits on, I am merely stating I cant please everyone, why do people go for a meal at a posh restaurant and get a rabbits portion and rave about it, the world is crazy
