The man

I don't get all this tackle tarts talk and zziplex are overrated malarkey top anglers and casters wouldn't use them if they were overrated and as for the price you get what you pay for I could spend £100-£100.000 on a car to do the same job but you buy the best at what you can afford some people don't smoke or drink so if I don't spend some money on something the missus would spent it I personally love spending on fishing

Totally also agreement here, but same can be said for all the top end UK built and designed rods going as far back as the 70s.Nice honest bloke Terry Carrol when lve had to speak to him, same as all the other UK rod manufacturers spoken to them all at one time or another and used their rods.In the end the rod in use as has been said already,no matter what the name, price tag or badge on it says, will only ever be as good as the angler using it.

no it wont....... because there will be a new model out next week and you'll have to sell the one you've got to buy that and stay in fashion.

Oh is there a new one out ?

Order me one i dont care what it is or what it duz just get me one ;)lol
I have a gap to fill I havnt got one thats 13ft 3 lol

Take it back Bill I could never sell my precious!!!

Do people buy rods to be in the fashon like? Cos I dont.

people will alway's buy what they can afford....

some people are better off than other's,

when a walk along a pier a personally don't judge a bloke by the gear he's using,

and that doesn't make any1 working for any company an ********........!

if you get me drift..

davey

I get your drift davey, like you I dont judge anyone on the gear their using, in fact I dont really take much notice, each to their own. This thread started off with some lad saying he'd spent the day with terry carrol and the zziplex team and people have come on saying he's an arse nd that zziplex r sh!t only bought by people to keep in the fashion like I say, each to their own but I dont agree.

whats your favourate colour, whats your favourate team, whats your favourate bait,so it all boils down to personal choice. as said your money its your choice.ps,id buy a red @ white shirt.

Some of the 'top' anglers on this forum are the worst when it comes to obsession with the latest marks

Never met the man and I'm more of a century man myself but respect the zippys. Each to their own

I guess that means I'd better stop using my 24 year old Pendleteque Pro-Am Match. Shame, as it is lighter, more responsive and will put a bait out just as far as most modern rods while still having superb bite detection.

Or for that matter my Primo Synchro and M4 Evo, both rod models that have been around for 10 years or more. Again a shame, the Synchro is the best fishing rod I've ever used (and I've had plenty of Century, Daiwa, Conoflex, AFAW and Abu rods in my time) whilst the M4 Evo is the perfect allrounder for the NE coast (IMHO) and my only regret with the Evo is that I swapped it for my Dymic LT Bullet, an even older rod that was a superb rough ground / casting rod...

A load of old tosh

Who mentioned anything about the cost of them?

To an extent I do agree that in "some" situations it doesnt really matter the type of rod ur using, weather it cost a few quid or a few hundred, but do the people who see certain rods as just a fashion staitment feel the same about reels?

steve that is my precious i want it back mine i say lol

Righty ho this is my take on it , seems there is a lot of people thinking any rod can do the same job , wrong , so i have fished all my life , boats and shore i have learned a bit in that time over 50 year , so i go beach fishing , mainly day light chasing the cod , i need to cast along way may be 150 yards or more with bait,i , so i have tried most of the different makes of rods out over the years , and had a few snap resulting in serious injury , on more than one occasion , so i want to pick a rod up that i have 100 percent faith in while casting , i dont want to be thinking is this going to snap , zziplex has the best pedigree out there for reliability and not snapping , and i have every faith in them , but dont have the same sense of security when using other rods,
