The man

Righty ho this is my take on it , seems there is a lot of people thinking any rod can do the same job , wrong , so i have fished all my life , boats and shore i have learned a bit in that time over 50 year , so i go beach fishing , mainly day light chasing the cod , i need to cast along way may be 150 yards or more with bait,i , so i have tried most of the different makes of rods out over the years , and had a few snap resulting in serious injury , on more than one occasion , so i want to pick a rod up that i have 100 percent faith in while casting , i dont want to be thinking is this going to snap , zziplex has the best pedigree out there for reliability and not snapping , and i have every faith in them , but dont have the same sense of security when using other rods,

more than 150 yards with a cod bait? really?

i was a casting instructor on the masters list for well over 20 year , have done a lot of casting over grass , and on a few occasions got a measure with a rig on using a 150 gram sinker paternoster rig using my fishing gear and yes well over 150 yards , with a plain bomb no wires and a jelly worm 200 yards plus is possible for a good few people these days ,

Its jealousy in my opinion...if everyone had the money to buy the best gear on the market they would simple as that...as previously said there is nothing wrong with spending hard earned money on the best gear you can afford..I have expensive rods and cheap rods that all get their use...if people want to call me tackle tart thats their choice but i dont buy rods for show i buy what i want and like instead of ****ing my money up the wall on drink or drugs!!

Exactly right

all the zziplex willy waving that goes on is ridiculous, the fish don't know what sort of rod you are using. It seems to be prevalent on all sea fishing forums.

What kind of action do those zziplex willys have? I heard they can be quite stiff but can go soft/floppy with age?

when the first carbon rods came out they would what wee called then have stretch marks on them and soften up slightly , however the newer carbons and resins this does not happen, i have had 1 rod over a year and it has been cast a hell of a lot but lost no rigidity at all

He his right I have that rod now it is still as new

Exactly right

Wrong really, I could buy a zziplex if i wanted to but I have no interest in buying one, my 20 year old daiwa amorphous whisker and my leeda icon do me.

The do a perfectly adequate job and i am not really bothered about the butt sticker on my rod and keeping up with the jones.

Fair play to those who can cast 150 yards with bait though, I wish i could take the time time to learn but many other things come first.

So why moan about people buying them it's there choice. And yes it takes time to learn how to put a bait that far, and you find time I stopped fishing to learn how to cast a few summers ago would get up at 4 cast for a few hours then go to work. With the help of cod magnet I went from putting a bait 70-80 yards to current distance,

picked up my BRAND SPANKIN NEW zziplex M4 Evo today after having it built by stan THE man parkin (top job). I WILL wave my zziplex willy around!!! lol:D
