Me and me owld mate Hooker had made plans to fish Horden today, I was up at 5 and doon te his hoose by 6.30. Drove doon te the car park and had a walk doon to the beach. The sea wiz massive and it was blowin' a hooly. Ye could hardly keep yer feet.
So we turned roond and got back in the Landrover and headed to the Brigade Hut at shields. With the wind coming from the south it was a great windbreak. Fished from 9 till 2 got nowt but a rockling on Hookers rod and a couple iv crabs.
Aye well, Better luck next time.

doesnt matter how well you know a mark only takes that one freak wave and your gone and in seas like this the chance of being rescued must be slim to none.
look what happend to davy a few weeks back on sharpness he has probs fished this mark more than anyone else and he still managed to have a fall. (sorry to use you as an example davy )
just remember m8 its other people lives you put at risk if you go in the drink not just your own.

and i have no knowlage of the sea? I am not asking for advice or permision just answering a question am big enough and ugly enough to make my own mind up if i get there and its a bit naughty i will move

yes i agree accidents can do happen i have said if its naughty will be away to another mark i dont think a wave will hit me at souter lol and as for david giving me advice on how to stay safe am sure he was fishing ar night on his own is that safe?practice what you preach

Yes he was m8 lots of people fish on there own at night but mot in seas like this. Obviously u know best tho

wave might not hit you but a sudden gust might,only reason i was on my own was the sea league was on and they all plumpted for the haven and middins but i had my s.os. phone and had my mate there within 5 minutes,first accident in 60 years. davy.

Its far too big for the target IMO like, you'd be mad to even try it
As for the sheltered marks, the walkway should fish, might be a bit windy but you'll be protected from the worst of it
The spiles/Seaham Pier today at low tide....
