Every time a mackem mentions that antique result I shake my head...almost in embarrassment.
Didn't know about that one Tony, funny but you would though wouldn't you!
Nice to have a bit of footy chat on the forum again by the way even if it's not about my own team.

Nearly that time again lads, the game we love to hate.
a couple of mackem mates of mine have been at pains to point out that both poyet & dicanio lost their first games in charge and then beat Newcastle
That said even with a Big Dick in charge they are 5/4 to get relegated
I'm predicting a 2-1 win for us, last minute penalty to knock the mackems ends right in, helping them spiral toward relegation and ultimately the 3rd division / liquidation where they rightly belong
can't believe johnson could be playing before the criminal investigation has been completed? Always should be innocent until proven guilty, but such a high profile case involving a premier league footballer and such serious allegations i'd have thought they'd have kept him well out of it, obviously desperate for any help they can get i suppose

i really hope you're wrong!
first 20 mins of the 1st half, and the entire 2nd half v arsenal we played well, positive , progressive football, a draw wouldn't have flattered us. If we play like that v the mackems then should be 3 points. O'Shea and Brown have been finsihed for years, they'll struggle to contain perez.Need our best players to play well, perez, sissoko, cabella , jan maat & krul.
Maybe even a ryan taylor free kick to win it

Paul - I actually would rather the mags win this time, its about time really! They will need to have a good game and a slice of luck.
As for Johnson, he shoud be allowed to play imo - I'm a beliver in innocent till proven guilty...mind you the girl involved is very local to me and all rumors point to him being guilty, but lets see.
